Predicting Lebanon's future.

A person I hold dear to my heart painted this picture a couple of years ago.
Many times did she ask for my help in order to fill the blank pages of the book, with no avail. Suggestions were made where by a quote from Gibran should be inserted or even Phoenicians calligraphy; we never came to an agreement. Today while updating her web page, in order to promote her art, we came across this old painting of hers.
In retrospect, I can only say that this painting was like a premonition for the uncertainty that plagued my country; from the presidential vacuum to the uncertainty of days to come.
It is now up to us, Lebanese, to fill the empty pages!

bien sur, nice painting. At least let's hope we can avoid putting blood into it -- without letting a mullah face on it.
Good call on the post :)

If you look at it like it is now, the 'blankness' makes a very strong statement.

Leave it blank, no 2 Lebanese will ever agree on what to fill it with.

The picture is partly missing the Lebanese identity, which can go on these pages, or which is (the cedar as Lebanese identity) covered by the blank pages.

If this was a history book, you have the choice of either filling it with blood, or something better, which is nothing.

Thank you for sharing.

marillion,
Leave it blank: we cannot write anything now, but there is still hope to write something in the future.

Lebanon's future is bleak like its past, because of all the gangsters in power...
