I just came back from Jounieh, you can see this add on billboard all over. I think that all Lebanese women should feel offended.

Don't get it. Are they trying to go for the Gucci and Prada vote? Countering the Aishti vote?

Though I don't think Lebanese women would be insulted. Pedaling cosmetic surgery loans, now that's insulting.

My understanding of it (and it might sound far fetched for some) is that the Tayyar is playing on the saying "soit belle et tais toi". Common mentality maybe within the ranks of THEIR voters, in an attempt of showing equality between the sexes.

Am I missing something here? It seems to me that the emphasis should be more on the "tais toi" being replaced by "vote", which is a positive message if you ask me!

@ Overandout, judging by the picture of the "cute" teenager used. I very much doubt that such a noble message would appeal to those who still have one iota of respect towards women in general and intelligence in particular. I truly think that the Tayyar should shut the hell up after such a campaign. Mind you I am not a big fan of the other side neither.

Well, sexism must be another field where Change and Reform IS NOT coming should they win the elections…
Or is there a picture following soon of a gorgeous teen boy, -whom, probably like the girl in the add, would not be able to vote- with “sois mignon et vote” on it?

... I think you missed the point.

If you are familiar with the saying:"Sois belle et tais-toi" - You'd find this ad clever.

The Fool, it is because I am familiar with the saying that I find this add insulting to women and to intelligence. And this opinion is shared by many. I would have liked it if the Tayyar added onto their program what they intend to do about battered women for example, how to ACTIVELY include women in politics...etc. Cheap rethoric doesn't cut it with me. Mind you the others are not any better.

@ Reza,

Welcome on this blog, I think it would be even better if people voted for political reforms and programs that will lead to a free, independent, sovereign and prosporus Lebanon.
